    Airtel brings the Highly-Anticipated BlackBerry 8800 Smartphone to India

    Wednesday, March 21, 2007, India: Airtel and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today introduced the sleek, elegant and performance-driven BlackBerry® 8800 - a powerful, feature-rich smartphone that delivers best-in-class technology in a thin and stylish design. At only 14mm deep, the BlackBerry 8800 is the thinnest BlackBerry handset yet. Priced at Rs.31,990/, it is now available from Airtel.

    The quad-band and EDGE-enabled BlackBerry 8800 incorporates built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) – a first-of-its-kind for BlackBerry smartphones in India – a full QWERTY keyboard, RIM’s new trackball system for fast and intuitive navigation, a media player, and a microSD expandable memory slot for storing music and videos.
