    New Delhi, India, April 28, 2005: Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited has continued on its growth trajectory as it announced its un-audited results for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2005.

     


    The total revenues for the full year ended March 31, 2005 grew 61% year-on-year to Rs. 8,035 crores. During the same 12-month period, the net profit jumped 132% to Rs. 1,439 crores.



    During the January to March quarter, the company earned total revenues of Rs. 2,317 crores, an increase of 49% year on year. The EBITDA crossed Rs 900 crores, demonstrating a growth of 70% while cash profit from operations rose 64% to Rs. 819 crores. Net profit for the quarter was Rs. 437 crores, up 44% over the same period last year.  The Earnings per share for the full year based on Q4 profit was 9.44.



    Bharti created history by becoming first and only telecom operator to have an all India mobile footprint, with the launch of its mobile services in Assam, Bihar and the North East in the last three months of FY05. As on March 31, 2005, Bharti had more than 1.1 crores customers comprising of more than one-crore mobile and 8.6 lakh broadband & telephone customers, a boost in the total customer base of 66% as compared to one year ago. Bharti became the first GSM operator in the country to have more than one crore mobile customers. With this, Bharti became the market leader in the total Indian wireless market.
