    Bharti Airtel recognized as Best Global Wholesale Carrier for 2009 at Telecoms World Awards Middle East
     
    New Delhi, November 29, 2009 : Bharti Airtel, Asia’s leading integrated telecom services provider has been recognized as the Best Global Wholesale Carrier for 2009 at the Telecoms World Awards Middle East held recently. Telecoms World is one of the flagship annual awards by Terrapinn, one of the leading business media organisations for international telecom carriers and service providers. The citation is recognition of Bharti Airtel's leadership in creating and delivering innovative wholesale solutions for global markets. 

    The independent judging panel of international and regional industry specialists recognized Bharti Airtel for its fresh, flexible approach to global wholesale. The panel commended Bharti Airtel’s innovative strategy of collaborative partnerships that has enabled it to expand its presence across all major cable landing locations in Middle East, over just two quarters. This has made it possible for Bharti Airtel to have capacities on four of the eight cables landing in the region. 

    One of the 11 award categories, the Global Wholesale Carrier category was open to wholesale telecom providers in wireline, fixed wireless, mobile or converged markets. The judging criteria included national, regional, global presence; business focus on growth markets; differentiation in areas such as cost, quality, connectivity, geographical reach, level of service, customer care; retail partner appeal and satisfaction and technology, business innovation. 

    The Awards ceremony attended by top executives from the telecommunications industry recognized and celebrated the companies and individuals with an unparalleled ability to succeed and continually set standards of excellence.
