    Bharti Signs First NLDO Licence in India

     

     

    Completes The Signing Process Of All Licences With DoT Across All Business Lines

     

     

    New Delhi, November 29, 2001: Bharti Telesonic - a subsidiary of Bharti Televentures Ltd., today signed and was awarded the first National Long distance Telephony Licence. Bharti Telesonic deposited a licence fee of Rs. 100 crore along with bank guarantees of Rs. 400 crore in accordance with the terms & conditions of the license agreement.


    This marks yet another important milestone for Bharti. With the signing of this licence Bharti has signed all its licences with DoT across all its service businesses. Earlier Bharti had signed 8 cellular and 4 fixed line licences. This signing further underlines Bharti's commitment to build Indian telecom infrastructure and provide the Indian consumer with world-class products and services.


    Bharti Telesonic has already deployed over 10,000 km of its fibre optic network, covering over 50 towns. Built on a ring architecture design, Bharti Telesonic's network will bring a high level of reliability and high speed connectivity in tune with Indian industry's needs emerging from the rapidly changing technology environment.
