    • Airtel Leverages its seamless national coverage & formidable network presence to extend significant
    roaming benefits
    • Airtel launches Turbo: Death of Roaming, reduces roaming rates by nearly 60%
    • Airtel launches Turbo to race ahead in the cluttered Indian telecom market

New Delhi, November 20, 2009 : Bharti Airtel, Asia’s leading integrated telecom services provider, today announced the death of roaming to drive usage amongst the 115 million customers across the country while roaming. The new Airtel Turbo plan reduces roaming rates by nearly 60%.

“Our first endeavour has always been to offer competitively superior, differentiated service to all Airtel customers. Recent research has shown that customers need benefits while travelling and are not satisfied with just local calling benefits. Airtel is uniquely poised to be able to meet this need because of its seamless, formidable network presence across India and On-Net strategy. We are delighted to bring Airtel Turbo to customers for them to be able to enjoy the Airtel service in a boundary less manner.” Said Mr. Atul Bindal, President, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd.

Airtel mobile customers who enrol into the Airtel Turbo plan will be charged 60 paisa per minute for all incoming calls while roaming. Building on the strong Airtel community of customers, Airtel Turbo offers Local and STD outgoing calls to an Airtel mobile customer while roaming at 60 paisa per minute. While Local and STD outgoing calls to another network while roaming will be 80 paisa per minute. These reduced roaming tariffs spells huge benefits of up to 60% for all Airtel mobile users enrolled under the Airtel Turbo plan.

After successfully launching the Airtel Advantage Plan and Airtel Freedom Plans where a clear choice of both per minute and per second was offered to Airtel customers, Airtel now introduces roaming benefits to its customers with the new Airtel Turbo Plan.

    Airtel Turbo Plan: Benefits

    On Home Network
Local & STD Airtel to Airtel mobile 50 paisa per minute
Local & STD Airtel to other mobile & landline calls 60 paisa per minute
    While Roaming
Incoming calls 60 paisa per minute
Local & STD Airtel to Airtel mobile 60 paisa per minute
Local & STD Airtel to other mobile & landline calls 80 paisa per minute

Airtel Prepaid mobile customers wishing to avail this benefit will be charged a Plan enrolment fee of Rs 98, which gives an incoming validity of one year. Customers will continue to enjoy these tariff benefits as long as they have incoming validity. Airtel customers can also avail the benefits of Airtel Turbo with a monthly rental plan in Postpaid.
