    Bharti Airtel appoints Vineet Taneja as Operations Director- South
    New Delhi, April 29, 2010: Bharti Airtel, one of Asia’s leading integrated telecom service providers, today announced the appointment of Vineet Taneja as Operations Director-South for its Mobile Services in the Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu circles. He will report to Atul Bindal, President-Mobile Services.

    Announcing the appointment, Sanjay Kapoor, CEO-India & South Asia, Bharti Airtel, said “I am delighted to welcome Vineet to the Airtel family. With his rich experience in mobile multimedia technologies and services, we are confident that he will successfully lead our operations in the Southern market.”

    Vineet Taneja, who has earlier worked with Nokia India and Hindustan Unilever Limited, has over 18 years of work experience in sales and marketing. At Nokia India, Vineet managed the devices portfolio and launch program management and also headed the services and software business unit. He successfully drove the mobile multimedia consumption in India and built a robust sales & channel base to market Nokia’s multimedia products and solutions across the country. He was also responsible for putting in place strong strategy to hasten the adoption of emerging mobile multimedia technologies and expanding the market share for Nokia’s Multimedia products and solutions across key domains such as Music, Imaging, Internet, Media, Applications and Mobile Enhancements.

    He has also held multiple senior positions at Hindustan Lever, his last one being Vice President for the company’s Tea Business.

    Vineet holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Roorkee. He is also a Post Graduate in Business Management from IIM, Kolkata.
