  • What is SMS2.0? Why do I need it?
    • SMS2.0 is an improved version of SMS .
    • It works the same way as regular SMS . There are no changes to the way basic SMS works.
    • SMS2.0 provides you additional cool features like font colours, emoticons, and free content.
    • There are no changes to your subscription plan . The number of free SMSs that you had before will remain the same. If you
    • have an Internet data plan, there are no changes to that either.
  • Will my friend who doesn't have SMS2.0 get my SMS?
      We support the following phone types:

  • Will my friend who doesn't have SMS2.0 get my SMS?
      Yes. He will get the SMS as plain text, as he normally would. The smileys will appear as text characters. For example :D.
  • Will SMS2.0 impact my battery life?
    • There will be a slight decrease in battery life. It depends on your usage and how often you visit websites. The battery life impact is
    • minimal and almost unnoticeable.
  • What are the charges?
    • SMS2.0 is absolutely free. However there are charges associated with a few actions you may do. If something is chargeable, you
    • are always shown a message indicating the charge and asking you if you want to continue.
    • The following items are chargeable
    • When you click the read more link, internet charges as per your plan will apply for some websites. Some websites are free. This
    • will be indicated when you click the Read More link.
    • Downloading ringtones, wallpapers, etc.
    • For sending a request for daily subscription to jokes, shayari etc using the Subscribe menu option
    • For sending a request for items like live score or stock updates using the menu options
    • For sending a request to be contacted by an advertiser
  • What is free?
    • Downloading SMS2.0. It is a free upgrade.
    • Using SMS2.0. It is for free use.
    • Content that is shown to you through teasers and full screens. All content is free .
    • Browsing the content
    • SMS charges are the same. No extra charge. Your SMS subscription will not change.
    • There are no charges for the Internet data used by SMS2.0 to download the teaser and full screen content that you see.
    • Cost of sending SMS is the same as before.
    • There are no charges for the content displayed to you. All content is free .
  • I have downloaded SMS2.0 and got the registration message, but do not see any ads or content.
    • Check if you have Airtel Live APN on your phone. If not, provide user with the Airtel live settings.
    • Check your phone memory. If there is not enough memory then ads or content will not be downloaded to the phone.
  • I don't like the content I am getting.
    • You can select your interests by logging on to the SMS2.0 website on www.sms2.in .
  • I see the same content the whole day
    • We currently update content once in the night.
  • I cannot access any WAP pages through the menu options on the ads/content
    • Check if you are able to access Airtel Live page from your phone. Of not, download Airtel Live settings and try accessing the
    • page again.
  • I have mobile office/ NOP activated on my phone. I still cannot see any ads/content on SMS2.0
    • You need Airtel Live even if you have Mobile Office/ NOP on your phone. Request for Airtel Live on your phone and then try
    • accessing SMS2.0
  • How do I view the full ad or content?
    • Usually the full ad or content is shown to you once you send your message. You can also view it while you are typing the SMS by
    • using your down arrow key to move to the teaser and click it.
    • Alternatively you can:
    • Access the Options menus and scroll down to expand the Teaser submenu.
    • Select View teaser detail .
  • How do I disable or enable ads or content?
    • If the content displayed on your SMS2.0 is not to your liking then you can consider updating your content preferences before
    • disabling it.
    • If you still want to disable the ads or content:
    • From the SMS compose or view window, open the Options menu displayed at the bottom-left corner.
    • Scroll down to the Teaser submenu, expand it, and select Disable teasers. To turn on teasers select Enable teasers .


  • How do I include emoticons in my SMS? When composing your SMS:
    • Open the Options menu displayed at the bottom-left corner.
    • Next select Insert Emoticon .
    • Now simply select the emoticon you want to use in your SMS.
    • You have got a nice expressive message for yourself now!
  • How do I change my font colour?
    • When composing your SMS:
    • Open the Options menu displayed at the bottom-left corner.
    • Scroll down to the Text submenu, expand it, and select Colour .
    • Next, simply select one of the groovy colours available.
    • To revert to the default colour, follow the same steps and select Default Colour . Text colour is changed as shown in the following.
  • I am unable to send or read messages. Guide user to uninstall application and then escalate the issue to Affle
             technical support.

  • I have a problem installing.
    • Check what kind of error the user is receiving. Accordingly guide. The following are possible problems:
    • File corrupted: I f the user gets a ‘file corrupted' prompt, then the user needs to restart the phone and then retry downloading
    • by clicking the URL in the WAP push message.
    • Reinstall: Sometimes the user may try to reinstall over an existing installation. In such cases guide the user to uninstall and
    • reinstall again.
    • Insufficient memory: The space available on the user's phone is too less. Inform the user that s/he might have to delete some
    • files from their phone to be able to install.
    • I cannot access any WAP pages through the menu options on the ads/content Check if you are able to access Airtel Live page from
    • your phone.
    • If the user is not on Airtel Live send him the settings and ask him to access these pages again.
  • I have mobile office/ NOP activated on my phone. I still cannot see any ads/content on SMS2
    • You need Airtel Live even if you have Mobile Office/ NOP on your phone. Request for Airtel Live on your phone and then
    • try accessing SMS2.0
  • I uninstalled but the application is still there
    • Restart the phone. It will be fine.
  • I am not able to log on to the SMS2.0 portal
    • Did you prefix '+' and the country code to your phone number? For example: +919845633393
    • If the user is still unable to connect, please escalate to Affle technical support after collecting the following information from
    • the user:
    • Customer Name
    • Phone Number
    • Phone Model
    • Are you able to read message from Inbox? (Yes/No)
    • Are you able to create a new message? (Yes/No)
    • Date and approximate time of installation
    • Any other details
  • I can't see any new content
    • Escalate to second level support
  • I can't see any content
    • Escalate to second level support
  • I can't see the SMS2.0 icon after installing
    • If you have upgraded your SMS2.0 service, then you will not see the icon.
  • I forgot my password
  • I can't access my SIM messages after installing SMS2.0
    • I will forward this matter to the technical department. However if you really need to access your SIM messages urgently, please
    • uninstall SMS2.0
  • My SMS application is now too slow
    • A 2-3 second delay in opening is normal. Since we have now added so many new features to the SMS application, it takes an
    • additional few seconds than earlier. Just like a high-end phone is slightly slower than the basic models, an advanced SMS
    • application will be a little slower than a basic one.
  • I clicked the link in the SMS but nothing was downloaded.
    • Did you click Yes when you were shown the prompt “connection to server needed”? You should click Yes.
    • (If the download still doesn't begin ). Please check if your phone is configured for Web access.
  • There is a link, but it's not underlined and I can't click it.
    • You need to turn on the Automatic Find option. To do so:
    •     Go to your Options menu.
    •     Scroll down and select Automatic find on
    • The download of SMS2 client started but did not complete.
    • The network might be busy. Please try again later.
  • How do I install SMS2.0?
    • Installing SMS2.0 is a fairly simple procedure.
    • You would have received a message with a web link to download the SMS2.0 application.
    • Open the link in the service message. This launches the web browser on your phone.

    • A page is displayed with the text "You are just a click away from upgrading to SMS2.0. Begin Download!". Click the
    • Begin Download link.
    • A pop up with the text “Install SMS2.0 Installer?” is shown. Select Yes . Next select Install .
    • You may then be displayed a message “Unable to verify supplier. Continue anyway?”. Select Yes .
    • Next, a pop with the text “Install SMS2.0?” is shown. Select Yes . Next select Install .
    • You may then again be displayed a message “Unable to verify supplier. Continue anyway?”. Select Yes to complete the installation.
    • Note: Ensure that the software installation option in the settings of your mobile phone's Application Manager is turned on.
    • In general this step is not necessary, however if the application fails to install, the user should check to ensure that the Application
    • Manager allows the installation of downloaded applications. The following describes the procedure:
    • To set the Software Installation option of the mobile phone's Application Manager:
    • Access the Application Manager.
    • The application manager can be found at Menu->Tools-> Manager
    • Click the Options menu and select Settings .
    • Check if the Software Installation is options is Off or On .
    • If it's off, click that option, and change the setting to On .
  • What is the registration?
    • The registration is required to create your profile in the database. To register, please fill in the details shown to you, select your
    • interests, and click Ok. These interests will determine the content that is sent to you. You can update your interests from our
    • website www.sms2.in
  • How do I test the installation?
    • Create a new message and send it to yourself. You should see a new SMS UI, with the SMS2.0 icon.
  • How do I uninstall SMS2.0?
    • If you are unable to fix the problem, and if the user is willing to wait, then escalate it to Affle. Inform the user that he will be called
    • back. Collect the following information:
    •     Customer Name
    •     Phone Number
    •     Phone Model
    •     Brief description of the problem
    • If the user is unwilling to wait, then help him uninstall by guiding him through the following procedure.
    • To uninstall SMS2.0:
    • Access the Application Manager of your mobile phone. The Application Manager enables you to manage additional applications
    • that you have installed on your phone.
    • The Manager can be found under ‘Menu->Tools->Manager' .
    • From the list of available applications highlight SMS2.0.
    • Open the associated Options menu and select Remove.
    • A confirmation message is displayed. Select Yes .
    • Next follow the same procedure to remove ‘SMS2.0 Installer'.
