"Within a few days of my joining airtel, I got my first experience of a job never done before. I was a part of team mCommerce, a promising emerging business from the airtel family. We were trying to build a new category of payments which involved creating an ecosystem for issuance, funding and usage. I took up the responsibility of building an approach to acquire physical merchants in the market with speed & scale in the most cost effective manner. With great support & guidance from everybody in the team, I went about a thorough process of thinking through, forming hypotheses, testing with actual merchants in the market, reforming and validating the hypotheses. I also researched extensively on merchant acquisition approach followed by credit card companies and gauged pros and cons. After a week of holistic analysis, an approach paper was prepared with all details required, which formed the basis of kick starting the merchant business. The support I received from the entire team was invaluable in the effort. It was a new sphere for airtel which made it truly feel like my first job never done before."
