Executive Summary

  • All cases pertaining to a specific function (General Management, Finance, HR & Supply Chain) will be uploaded on www.airtel.in/icreate.
  • The first year as well as the second year students from the following campuses: IIM- Ahmedabad, IIM- Bangalore, IIM- Calcutta, IIM- Indore, IIM- Kozhikode, IIM- Lucknow, IIFT, XLRI, FMS, MDI Gurgaon, TISS, ISB, SPJIMR, NITIE may choose to work on any one of these cases basis their interests. Teams are expected to study, understand and research the case and come up with an innovative solution or approach. Teams must then submit an executive summary (proposal presentation and concept note), which should broadly define the strategy proposed as a solution to the case.
  • Students have to register in teams of 2 only by logging on www.airtel.in/icreate. Submissions need to be made within specified timelines.
  • Participating teams are free to attach any supporting material - data and/or video files to support the ideas being presented.
  • All the entries received in Round 1 will be studied by a panel consisting of Airtel's top leaders and the senior Young Leaders. These panels will take a call on the entries to be shortlisted for campus rounds. The evaluation at this stage will be broadly based on the situation analysis and strength of the idea proposed. From among submissions received, the panel will shortlist 8 teams from each campus to participate in the campus round.

Campus Round

  • 14 campus rounds will be held in the B-schools listed above. Teams qualifying to the Campus Round will be invited to present to an eminent Airtel jury.
  • Teams will need to make a 15 minute presentation to substantiate the case solution with appropriate implementation and cost details, if relevant. This will be followed by a Q&A session
  • At this stage, the jury will evaluate the presentations basis the following criteria:
    • Business & Situation Analysis
    • Novelty of Ideas/ Out-of-the-box thinking
    • Ease of Implementation
    • Supporting Analytics
    • Financial Viability/ROI
    • Quality of Presentation
  • Two teams will be declared as winners from each campus. These teams will represent the campus as one team in the semifinal round.

Wild Card entries

  • Basis feedback from last year, we are introducing 2 Wild Card entries for interested participants from campuses not listed here as a Participating B-school
  • A special case will be given to students in the month of September to study, understand and research the case and come up with an innovative solution or approach. Teams must then submit an executive summary (proposal presentation and concept note), which should broadly define the strategy proposed as a solution to the case.
  • Students have to register in teams of 4 only by logging on www.airtel.in/icreate . The registration and Submissions need to be made within specified timelines.
  • All the entries received in will be studied by a panel consisting of airtel's top leaders. From submissions received, the panel will shortlist 2 teams to participate directly in the semifinal round.

Semifinal Round

  • The 16 shortlisted teams (14 teams from the campus round and 2 wild card entries) will participate in an online business simulation challenge where the participants will wear the CXO hat to take decisions on profitability and competition over six quarters.
  • The participating teams will be briefed about the rules beforehand by the moderator. In the semifinal round, four online business simulation games of similar complexity level will be organized and each game will have 4 teams competing against each other
  • The winners of the online business simulation games will compete at the 'All India Grand Finale' at Airtel Centre, Gurgaon

Grand Finale

  • The 4 finalist teams will be given a live business problem, which will be communicated in advance.
  • Each team will be assigned a mentor to guide them in resolving the business challenge.
  • The teams will be invited to present their recommendations to the top leadership team of Airtel at Gurgaon, where the icreate 2017 winners will be decided and declared.
  • All the participants at this stage will also get an opportunity to interact with these leaders for a holistic learning experience.
