    • 1. What is 'mChek on Airtel'?
      • ‘mChek on Airtel’ is a service that enables payments and other commercial transactions using Airtel mobile phone. End-users can download the ‘mChek on Airtel’ application on their mobile handsets and use it for "Anytime, Anywhere, Any-purpose" payments & commerce in an easy-to-use, quick and secure manner only on Airtel Mobiles.
    • 2. What can I do with 'mChek on Airtel'?
      • You can use ‘‘mChek on Airtel’ to pay for and buy products and services. For example, you can currently use it for Airtel Postpaid Mobile and Home Phones & Broadband bill payment; Airtel Pre paid recharge, Movie & Flight ticket booking. Over time you can use it to buy train tickets, buy books/flowers/gifts/prepaid cards/ gadgets/ appliances and even pay your utility bills.
    • 3. What do I need to start using 'mChek on Airtel' Service?
      • You need to have a valid Credit Card.
        You need to have an Airtel mobile connection
        You need to SMS ‘Airtel’ to 543219 and download the mChek application on your mobile handset or register through the USSD, if your handset is not compatible. Simply make your mChekPIN, link your credit card and start transacting.
    • 4. What are the various ways through which I can register on mChek and start transacting?
      • You can register & transact on mChek on Airtel by following either of the modes given below
        SMS ‘Airtel’ to 543219 (Toll Free), download the application by clicking on the link, or register on the USSD
        Visit www.airtel.in and goto Recharge Prepaid or Pay Bills
        Dial 121 and goto payments section or dial 12121 to register & making payments (currently available in Delhi circle)
        If you are on the new 64K SIM, the mChek on Airtel application is preburnt in your SIM. Simply goto Airtel Live in your SIM menu and press ‘mChek on Airtel’
    • 5. What all Service would be made available through 'mChek'?

    • 6. Will 'mChek on Airtel' cost me any money?
      • (a) What are the registration charges and the monthly rental?
        Ans:
        Downloading ‘mChek application’ is absolutely free. There are no charges for the download / registration of ‘mChek on Airtel’.

        (b) How much will be charged for Bill Pay, Prepaid Recharge?
        Ans: Bill Pay and Prepaid Recharge facility will be offered free of cost.
    • 7. What is the Limit for my Transactions?

    • 8. What do I require to use ‘mChek application’?
      • You need a Java-enabled mobile handset. You require Airtel Live connection to download the application. Refer to the list of compatible handsets. Annexure 1
    • 9. Do I have to pay for GPRS services?
      • To download mChek on Airtel you need Airtel Live Service activated on your Mobile phone. The Airtel Live Services are offered Free of Charge
    • 10. Is my mobile phone JAVA-enabled?
      • To check if the phone is Java-enabled, ask the customer the mobile model, and check against the list of Java-enabled handsets. Finally, inform the customer appropriately. Refer to Annexure 1.

    • 11. What do I need to start using ‘mChek on AIrtel’ Service?
      • You need to have a valid Credit Card.

      • Please Press "OK" to continue.
    • 14. After download where can I find 'mChek on Airtel' application on my mobile?
      • It depends on your mobile handset. After download, your mobile handset might store ‘mChek application’ in Applications or Games or you could find it in main menu itself.
    • 15. After I have downloaded 'mChek' application on my mobile, how do I proceed with           Registration & add my Credit/Debit Card Details?
      • After you have downloaded mChek application on your mobile, you need to agree to the Terms & Conditions post which you     get an option to create your own six-digit numeric MPIN.
        After Confirming your 6 digit MPIN, you will get a window to add your Credit/Debit card.
        Go to "Add account" in the main menu and you will get an option to select either your Credit or Debit Card.
            1. In case, you have selected Credit Card
        then you will need to enter the 16-digit credit card number, CVV,
            and the card expiry date.
            2. In case, you have selected Debit Card (Currently not available) then you will need to enter the first 6 -digit of your Debit Card
            Number.
            On successful authentication by your Bank you will receive a SMS to call up your Bank Call Center to get your
              Debit card activated on your Mobile . The Debit Card will be activated by your Bank on your mobile
              within 24Hrs.
    • 16. Will my credit card information in the 'mChek on Airtel' application be safe?
      • Yes. Your credit card / Debit Card information is absolutely safe as it is secured by the six-digit numeric MPIN, which you have created.
    • 17. How do you ensure the safety of my credit card information?
      • Your credit card information is stored in an encrypted form on your mobile phone. In addition, input of the correct mChekPIN ensures that only an authorized user uses the ATM/Debit/credit card information stored on your mobile.
    • 18. Is it mandatory to add my card information to the ‘mChek application’?
      • Yes. It is mandatory to add your credit /debit card information to the ‘m-Chek application’.
    • 19. How secure is ‘mChek on Airtel’?
      • ‘mChek on Airtel’ is completely secure and has been verified by VISA. It also has a global certification for financial transactions using mobile phones. For each transaction that you make your personal mChekPIN needs to be entered to proceed.
    • 20. Can I use debit cards or any other payment instruments?

    • 21. What is the purpose of the mChekPIN?
      • mChekPIN is a six-digit numeric PIN. It ensures that only an authorized user uses ‘Airtel’s mChek service’. mChekPIN is similar to your ATM PIN; it ensures all your transactions are secure. Hence, you need to ensure that the same is not shared with anyone.

    • Prepaid Recharge Through mChek:-

    • 22. How do I use my mobile to recharge my prepaid account?
      • Go to the ‘mChek on Airtel’ Menu and Click “Pay Airtel” in the main menu and select Prepaid to choose your transaction. Enter the Amount and submit and you will get a prompt to enter your mChek PIN. After entering the PIN click Submit and you shall receive a SMS with the transaction details.
        The following Rules apply for recharge
        Number of recharges per month – only 10
        Min value per transaction – Rs.50
        Max value per transaction – Rs.500
        Limit on no. of transactions per mobile no – 10 per month.
        Limit of recharge value month per Mobile no – Rs.500 per month per mobile Num (for the first 45 days after the first transaction) after that limit is Rs 1,000 per month.

    • Bill Payment Through mChek:-

    • 23. How do I use my mobile to pay my postpaid bills & Landline bills?
      • Go to the mChek Menu and Click “Pay Airtel” in the main menu and select Postpaid for mobile or Landline for Fixedline/Broadband to choose your transaction. Enter the Amount and submit. You will get a prompt to enter your mChek PIN. After entering the PIN click Submit and you shall receive a SMS with the transaction details.
        The following Rules apply for Paying Post Paid Bills.
        Only 2 transactions/day and 3 transactions/month allowed.(Both Landline & Postpaid bill combined)
        Cap on maximum amount that a customer can pay based on customer segment has been defined in billing.
        Customer is not allowed to pay more than 120% of billed+unbilled amount.

    • Use of Postpaid Mobile to Recharge Prepaid & Postpaid Bill of Friends / Family Members

    • 24. Can I use my mobile to pay my friend’s postpaid bills/ Prepaid Recharge?
      • Yes, onlyif you are a Postpaid Customer ,
        1. For recharging friends Prepaid No:- Go to the mChek Menu and Click “Pay Airtel” in the main menu and select Prepaid and enter the 10 digit Prepaid Mobile no of your Friend. Enter the Amount and submit. You will get a prompt to enter your mChekPIN. After entering the PIN click Submit and you shall receive a SMS with the transaction receipt and your friend will receive a confirmation SMS on his phone.

        2. For Paying Postpaid Bills:- Go to the mChek Menu and Click “Pay Airtel” in the main menu and select Postpaid- Pay for Others - New and enter the 10 digit Post Mobile no of your Friend. Enter the Amount and submit. You will get a prompt to enter your mChek PIN. After entering the PIN click Submit and you shall receive a SMS with the transaction receipt and the other friend will receive a confirmation SMS on his phone.

        Pls Note: - You will get an Option to save your friends/family members Nick name (maximum 3-10 characters) after making payments. This Nick Name can be used for future transactions.


    • Home Phones & Broadband Payment Through mChek:-

    • 25. How do I use my mobile to pay my Landline Bill?
      • Go to the mChek Menu and Click “Pay Airtel” in the main menu and select Landline to choose your transaction. Enter the Landline Number along with STD Code, Enter the Amount and submit and you will get a prompt to enter your mChek PIN. After entering the PIN click Submit and you shall receive a SMS with the transaction details.

    • Mobile Money Transfer through Postpaid and Prepaid Mobile. (This service is temporarily on hold)

    • 26. Can I use any CARD to avail Money Transfer Service?
      • Only VISA Debit Card of ICICI Bank & Corporation bank account can be used for Money Transfer Services.
    • 27. How do I use my mobile to avail Money Transfer Service?
      • After Registering your debit card and activation of the same with your Bank
        Go to the mChek Menu and Click “Send Money” to Visa Card or to Mobile to choose your transaction.
        Enter the Visa Debit Card No of the Recipient, the Amount & the Mobile No of the Recipient and submit. You will get a prompt to enter your mChek PIN, after entering the PIN click Submit and 2 Text message will be sent by mChek as shown below :-


        The first SMS contains the transaction confirmation and receipt, which is sent to you from mChek. The second SMS is sent to the Recipient’s mobile, with details about the transaction.
    • 28. Can I transfer money from my account to someone else’s mobile?
      • Yes, Provided the Recipient is a registered Airtel mChek User.
        Select 'Send Money' To Mobile option from the main menu. And enter the Recipient Mobile No and Amount
            and Submit.
        The Recipient will receive an SMS displaying the amount and the mobile number from which the money
            is received. The Recipient needs to follow the instructions on the SMS and send SMS 'MYVMT and
            transaction ID to 543219. E.g. of SMS - MYVMT 662917 . After you send the SMS you will receive a
            pop-up. Click OK from options to proceed.
        The Money will be transferred to your account registered with 'mChek'
    • 29. In case I have registered more than one account can I choose which account I want to           receive my money in to?
      • Yes, In case you have registered more than 1 account with mChek. After you receive the pop-up SMS click OK from options to proceed. Next, select the account to which you want to transfer money from the ‘Select Account’ option. The Money will be transferred to your selected account.
    • 30. Can I receive money on my mobile?
      • You need to be an Airtel Mobile Customer and registered with 'mChek on Airtel' in order to receive money on your mobile phone by following the steps. Refer to Steps in Ques no 27.
    • 31. Till when will the mCheck facility be valid?
      • The mChek application remains valid until customer decides to unsubscribe mChek services.
    • 32. You have sent an SMS to download the WAP link. However, you are unable to
                 download the WAP link. What could be the reason?
      • Possible reasons could be:-
        There is no memory space in the handset. - (Delete some applications in order to free some memory space).
        Airtel Live Service is down. - (Try the service after some time)
        You have not selected Airtel Live as the default setting.


    • Trouble Shooting & SLAs


    • 33. What do I do if I forget my mChekPIN?
      • In this case the mChekPIN needs to be reset. The reset option will appear only after making 3 unsuccessful attempts of the mChekPIN.
        You will then be prompted to create a new mChekPIN and enter a new 6 digit PIN of your choice. When the PIN is reset all the card information stored on your Mobile will be deleted automatically For Credit Card you need to only add your Credit Card Details Freshly.
    • 34. You make a bill payment/recharge; however you do not receive a payment           confirmation. What could be the recommended action?
      • Please call up the Call Center, The Agent can check the transaction details and provide you with the confirmation of the transaction
    • 35. You try to perform a money transfer from your mobile phone. However, the money           transfer request is rejected. What could be the possible reasons?
      • This service is temporarily on hold
        The possible reasons for money transfer request getting rejected are:
        Customer’s card is blocked or invalid
        Customer’s card limit has exceeded
        Customer’s account is not accessible
        Customer entered incorrect MPIN
        Customer is using a non-VISA card
        Customer’s Card has Expired
    • 36. Whom can I talk to if there is any issue regarding Money not Transferred?
      • This service is temporarily on hold
        For Money Transfer queries, please call your bank whose debit card is being used on the phone.
    • 37. Whom can I talk to if there is any issue regarding prepaid top up or postpaid bill           payment?
      • You need to contact "Airtel" Customer care at 121 for any postpaid bill payment and prepaid top up queries.
    • 38. What is the Process to Block my 'mChek on Airtel' if I have lost my Handset ?
      • Please call up the Airtel call center at 121 and notify the loss of handset
        Call Centre Agent from Airtel will verify your credentials and block the Number.
        Call Center Agent shall raise a Ticket mentioning loss of handset along with mobile no. mChek shall inform the bank about the loss of handset and Bank shall block the customer’s mChek transactions.
        You can then visit the nearest Airtel Relationship Center and collect a New SIM card.
        Then re- register per Steps in Question No 11, 12 & 14 and call up the Bank to get the Money Transfer Service Activated.
    • 39. What is the Process to activate my 'mChek on Airtel' after getting a New Handset ?
      • After the customer changes the handset, he/she has to re-register for activating mChek services Customer sends ‘AIRTEL’ to ‘543219’ and downloads and installs the application Customer follows the registration process with bank. Refer to Steps in Question No 11, 12 & 14
    • 40. What is the Process if I change my Mobile Number before Registering on the
                Application (ICICI Debit Card)?
      • If Customer changes his mobile number without informing his bank
        mChek detects the change in Number, if the customer is attempting to make a transaction before registering.
        An SMS stating ‘a new number has been detected on the handset, call the bank to update the number in the bank records’ is sent to
           the customer
        Customer calls the bank call center and after authentication can start Registering on the mChek Application
    • 41. What is the Process if I change my Mobile Number after Registering on the
                Application? ICICI VISA Debit Cards
      • If you are trying to make a transaction through a new mobile number
        mChek detects that your mobile number has changed
        An SMS stating ‘a new number has been detected on the handset, call the bank to update the number in the bank records’ is sent to the customer.
        You need to call the bank to update the mobile number
        New number details are updated in the bank records
        You will then receive an SMS stating that the number has been updated successfully, and you must re-register to transact

        You need to cal up the Airtel call center and inform the agent that you have changed the handset & want to use mChek with your credit card
    • 42. What is the Process for Delinking / Deleting Card ? ICICI VISA Debit Cards
      • Call up the Bank call center & inform them that you want to delink the card/account

        Login to the mChek application
        Select the Manage Account > Card List option
        Choose the card to be deleted
        Press delete
        Confirm that the card needs to be deleted
        System deletes the card from the list
    • 43. What is the Process to activate my mChek after getting a New Handset?
      • After you have changed the handset, you need to re-register for activating mChek services Simply sends ‘AIRTEL’ to ‘543219’ and follow the steps.
