EXPRESS ACCOUNT

POWER ACCOUNT

Introduction

This is an instant account which allows you to spend upto Rs.10000 per month .

This is an upgrade account which allows you to spend upto Rs. 50,000 per day.

Spending

Utilities: recharge of mobile & digital TV and bill payment for mobile, fixed line, electricity, water, gas etc.
Travel : purchase of rail / flight tickets through various travel portals online
Movies : booking of movie tickets directly from your mobile phone,through various service partners.
Shopping : payment at restaurants, spas, shops in your area as well as online shopping.
Others : Payment for otherproducts & services such as subscriptions, donations, insurance premium

Sending

To airtel money number : send money instantly from your mobile to any other airtel money customer.

How do I register for an express account?
To get an express account you can:

Register on Web

  • Click here and fill up the simple application form
  • You will receive an SMS confirming your application in a few minutes

Register through USSD (*400#):

  • Just dial *400# from your airtel mobile, go to the 'register now' menu and provide your basic details
  • You will receive an SMS confirming your application in a few minutes
How do I register / upgrade to a power account
  • Visit the nearest authorized airtel money outlet or airtel relationship centre & fill up the airtel money application form
  • Submit your photograph and a copy of your identity & address proof. (list of valid documents is in the next point)
  • You will be registered instantly for an express account. Your account will be upgraded to a power account within 7 working days, subject to document verification.
What can I give as KYC documents for power account registration?
We need a documentary proof of your identity, address and signature. This can be obtained from one document (Passport or Driving License) or through a combination of documents listed below: Pan Card/Voter's ID/Valid ID cards from government departments/Marriage Certificate/Utility bills (Electricity/Telephone)/Gas connection book /Municipal corporation Bill/Letter from Housing Society (Only for the owners)/ Registered leave & License agreement (for tenants)/Credit card bill/ Bank account statement (not older than three months) /Bank pass book/Wealth or Income or Sales or Service Tax Assessment order/ Life insurance premium receipt/Registered Sale deed(for owners) and others.

How do I load cash in my account
There are two ways to recharge your airtel money account:

a) Online Recharge (Net banking) on www.airtel.in/money
Click on load cash, select load cash options- netbanking, debit cards, credit cards, maestro cards. Follow the instructions on screen to load cash in your account instantly. You can also recharge through airtel money self care account.

b) Retail Outlet recharge: You can load cash at any authorized airtel money retail location. No one other than an authorized airtel money retailer can load money into your account.
The agent took my cash but I didn't receive any SMS confirming the deposit?
There might be a network delay which may have affected the response time of the SMS. Kindly check your account balance after some time. If your account balance does not get updated & and you do not receive any SMS as well, call the customer support from the store itself. Do not leave until you get the confirmation through any of the two options mentioned above.
I tried doing an online recharge – my bank account was debited but my airtel money account was not credited. What do I do?
Transactions may fail due to various issues (bank or airtel money). The amount will be refunded to your bank account within 5 working days.
What will happen if I enter the wrong bank account details and money gets transferred to wrong receiver?
As per RBI guidelines, AMSL is not responsible for wrong bank account details entered. Therefore, whether you are transferring money using the Airtel Money USSD mobile application or through an Airtel Money retailer's assistance, the responsibility lies solely with the customer.

All customers who have a an express, power or super account.
Who can I send money to?
a) other airtel money account holders (both express and power)

b) any bank account (using NEFT)

c) any mobile( only for super account customers)
How long will it take to transfer the money?
If you are sending money to any mobile or to another airtel money customer, the transfer will be instantaneous. If you are sending money to a bank account, the transfer will take place as per the bank NEFT cycle (on the same day if the transaction was initiated before 4pm, on the next working day if the transaction was initiated after 4pm)
 

 

What details do I need to enter to send money to an airtel money customer?
You only need to enter the customer's airtel money mobile and the amount you wish to send. You will have to authorize the transaction by entering with your mPIN.
What details do I need to enter to send money to a bank account?
You need to enter the recipient's name, bank account number, bank IFSC code, mobile number (optional) and amount. You will have to authorize the transaction by entering with your mPIN.
How will I know that the money has been transferred successfully?
If you are sending money to an airtel money customer, both you and the recipient will receive and SMS confirming the transfer. If you are sending money to a bank account, you will instantly receive an SMS confirming the request. As soon as the money request is registered with our bank partner, you will receive another SMS confirming the same. In case of rejection of your request, you will receive an SMS stating the same.
What happens if the transaction has failed?
If you are sending money to airtel money customer, the amount will not be debited from your account. If you are sending money to a bank account, then the amount will be refunded to your account within 5 working days of the transaction failure
Do I need to register the recipient?
No, this is not compulsory. However, if there is someone you send money to regularly, we will soon allow you to save the details as part of the favorites in the 'existing payees' list so that you need not enter these details multiple times. (Please note, this feature is not yet available)
