Joachim Horn, Executive Director Network Services Group, joined Bharti Airtel in April 2009. He has close to 24 years of rich global experience in technology and networks, and his last assignment was with T-Mobile as Group Chief Technology Officer. He has worked in both emerging as well as developed markets and has driven substantial transformation and future thinking about the industry's evolution. During his tenure at T-Mobile, Joachim was responsible for leading a large scale network modernization in the core, radio and service platforms. He also laid the foundation for a successful Mobile Broadband business at T-Mobile by introducing both 3.5G HSPA and Edge in the European networks.
A Computer Science Graduate from Wedel University, Germany, Joachim has worked in various leadership positions with leading international companies such as Siemens and T-Mobile. He also served as GSMA board member and was the chairman of the GSMA strategy committee. He has deep domain knowledge of technology trends in the wireless business and has seen the industry's development from both a supplier and also operator perspective.
