Airtel Broadband FAQs on New Connection

1. Which Broadband plans are available?

2. Will I get the maximum Broadband speed promised in the plan?

The speed of Broadband shall vary as per your selected Tariff Plan, which the customer subscribes.

3. How to buy a new Broadband connection?

Steps to buy Airtel new Broadband connection: -

• Visit https://www.airtel.in/wifi-plans/?icid=header webpage or nearest airtel store https://www.airtel.in/store/?icid=footer.
• Select Best Broadband plan.
• Fill in the form or speak to our customer representative, after that you will get a new Broadband connection installed at your preferred address.

4. Which documents are required for a new Broadband connection?

There are 2 main documents required for a new Broadband connection.

• Proof of Identity
• Proof of Address

You can use any of the following as identity proof:

• Voter ID
• Aadhaar Card
• PAN card
• Ration card (with photo)
• Driving License
• Passport

For Address proof, you can produce any one of the following documents:

• Latest electricity bill
• Latest telephone bill
• RC copy of your vehicle
• Rental Agreement
• Passbook
• Voter ID card
• Aadhar card
• Passport

5. What is the cost of installation if I buy a new Broadband plan?

There is no Installation cost while purchasing new services. You will have to pay an advance amount which will be completely adjusted against your monthly bills.

Advance payment amounts as follows:

• New Broadband: Rs. 1500 per Broadband
• New Broadband + IPTV plan: Rs. 1500 per Plan
• New IPTV: Rs. 500 per TV

6. What is the installation & Hardware charges for new Broadband connection?

You have to pay Rs.1500 in advance as hardware and installation charges for a new broadband connection. This amount will be fully adjusted against your monthly bills. After the Rs. 1500 advance is exhausted, a Rs. 1000 cashback will be adjusted as ₹100 in the next 10 bills paid via the App.

If you opt for a monthly prepaid plan, you will have to pay Rs. 1500 for installation and hardware charges.

7. How much time does it take to activate the new Broadband plan?

Any new Broadband connections get activated within 48 hours.

8. Will I receive landline/telephone/handset/receiver with the Broadband router?

While you receive unlimited Local and STD calls, the landline/telephone/handset/receiver instrument will not be provided from our end. For LCO cities, the same rules apply basis approvals from BSNL authorities.

9. Will the ownership of Broadband router/ IPTV box be with the consumer?

While we do not charge any additional cost for Broadband router/ IPTV box, the ownership stays with airtel, we will retrieve the device after permanent disconnection.

10. Can I get the TV installed at a different location than the Broadband?

IPTV connections can only be installed with an Airtel Broadband; both the Broadband and IPTV connections should be present in the same location.

11. If I buy a secondary TV connection under Airtel Broadband + TV, what is the installation cost?

You will need to pay Rs. 500 advance for the secondary TV connection. This amount will completely adjusted against your monthly bills.

12. If IPTV is not installed during Broadband + TV installation, will I still be charged?

Yes. Starting 7 August 2025 you will be charged the full Broadband + TV plan amount plus tax even if IPTV is not installed.

13. What benefits will I get if IPTV is not installed?

You will only receive Broadband + OTT services but still be charged the full plan rental. To enjoy TV channel benefits, the TV must be installed.

14. How do I check my current Broadband plan in Airtel?

Login in your Airtel App and head over to the Services> Broadband section to find out your current plan or You can login on Airtel’s website using your registered phone number or Service ID to find out your current Broadband plan in Airtel.

15. What ARP discounts are available on broadband rental plans?

The ARP discounts depend on the rental amount and the plan duration selected (3, 6, or 12 months).

Note: For TN, KK, DELNCR, and ROM, there are no discounts on the ₹499 postpaid plan. LCO discounts are applicable across all circles.

16. How do I change my airtel Broadband plans?

It is quite easy to change your Broadband plans. You can call Airtel Customer Care on 121 or 198 using your registered phone number. You can also upgrade your plan from Airtel App.

17. Can we change our Broadband/ IPTV plan after subscribing and making payment?

You can add or remove services from the Airtel Broadband + TV plan anytime. However, if Broadband is removed, IPTV will not function. If IPTV is removed, the Broadband service will continue as a standalone connection and will be charged as per the applicable standalone plan.

18. I am on an Airtel Broadband Advanced Rental Plan. Can I join Airtel Broadband + TV plan?

Yes. You can change to the Airtel Broadband + TV plan through the Airtel App. Once the change is made, your plan will convert to a monthly billing plan, and any remaining balance from your current plan will be adjusted in your future bills.

19. What happens to prepaid Broadband balance when bundling into Airtel Broadband + TV plan?

Yes. You can change to the Airtel Broadband + TV plan through the Airtel App. Once the change is made, your plan will convert to a postpaid monthly billing plan, and any remaining balance from your current plan will be adjusted in your future bills.

20. What happens if I add another service to my Airtel Broadband + TV plan?

If you add another Airtel service to your Airtel Broadband + TV plan, the plan will be converted to One Airtel plan.

• If a Postpaid service is added, the customer will receive a ₹100 promotional coupon, which can be redeemed only during bill payment on the Airtel App.
• If a service other than Postpaid is added, the customer will continue to get the single bill convenience for all services.

1. What is Amazon Prime Lite (including 2 screens)?

Amazon Prime Lite is a Prime membership that gives customers access to Prime Video on up to 2 supported devices. Customers can stream eligible Prime Video movies, TV shows and Amazon Originals as part of Prime Lite.

2. What benefits do I get with Prime Lite through Airtel?

With the Airtel offer, eligible customers get:

• Amazon Prime Lite benefit as part of their eligible Airtel plan
• Perpetual/lifetime access to the benefit, as long as the customer continues to hold the eligible Airtel plan
• Access to eligible Prime Video movies, TV shows and Amazon Originals
• Streaming with ads
• Access on up to 2 supported devices
• Free, fast delivery on eligible Amazon purchases

Prime Lite does not include Prime Reading, Prime Music or Prime Gaming.

3. Who is eligible for the Amazon Prime Lite benefit?

• All customers on eligible broadband plans of ₹999 and above (100 Mbps and above), including ₹798 and ₹998 upgrade plans, will be eligible to receive Amazon Prime Lite as a perpetual plan benefit. This includes both new and existing customers.
• Existing customers on legacy ₹999 and ₹1,099 (200 Mbps) plans will continue to receive the full Amazon Prime benefit – a 12-month Amazon Prime subscription free from the date of claim, after which it will automatically renew for another year at ₹1,499.

4. Do I need to pay separately to continue using Prime Lite?

No. There is no separate paid renewal for the Prime Lite benefit. The benefit is included as part of the eligible Airtel plan and continues perpetually/lifetime, subject to the customer continuing to hold the eligible Airtel plan.

5. How do I get Prime Lite with Airtel?

Prime Lite is available as a benefit with select Airtel plans. To avail of this offer, the Customer must claim the benefit from the “Rewards & OTTs” section on the homepage of the Airtel App.

6. How long is my Prime Lite benefit valid?

The Prime Lite benefit is perpetually/lifetime and does not require separate paid renewal, as long as you continue to hold the eligible Airtel plan.

7. How many devices can I use with Prime Lite?

Prime Lite allows access to up to 2 supported devices.

8. What Prime Video content can I watch with Prime Lite?

Customers can access eligible Prime Video movies, TV shows and Amazon Originals available as part of Prime Lite.

9. What other Prime benefits are included?

Prime Lite includes free, fast delivery on eligible Amazon purchases.

10. What platforms can I use Prime Lite on?

Prime Lite supports access on TV and mobile. Web access is not supported.
