NIVA (Network Intelligent Virtual Assistant) — Internal Enterprise Application

This Privacy Policy describes how the Niva Application, an internal corporate tool developed by the Intelligent Automation Team for Bharti Airtel Ltd. (“the Company”), handles, processes, and protects data.

    1. Introduction & Scope

Niva (Network Intelligent Virtual Assistant) is a specialized enterprise utility designed exclusively for internal field engineers, Network Operations Center (NOC) personnel, and authorized contractors of Bharti Airtel Ltd. The App serves as a mobile-accessible operations hub, integrating multiple automated backend services to streamline network troubleshooting, infrastructure maintenance, and trouble ticket management.

    2. Data Collection & Handling Practices

As an internal corporate automation tool, Niva minimizes direct collection of network data. In alignment with Google Play Store standards, we explicitly declare our network data handling mechanism below:

    2.1 Authentication & Identifiers
    • Corporate Authentication (OLM ID): To access the platform, the on-ground engineer (“Field Engineer”) must authenticate using their corporate-assigned Operator Lifecycle Management Identifier (OLMID). This identifier is generated, verified, and strictly governed by Airtel’s internal identity provider systems.
    • Geographic Selection (State/Region): Upon authentication, Field Engineers are prompted to manually select their operating geographic Region/State within India (e.g., Gujarat, West Bengal, etc.). This selection is used purely for contextual session routing to local infrastructure servers and is not cross-referenced with external tracking identifiers.
2.2 Technical & Operational Network Data

Niva interacts heavily with enterprise network telemetry data. While this data concerns physical infrastructure, it is processed via strict corporate pseudonymization:

    • Remedy and Incident Tickets: Processes Incident IDs (e.g., INC001958983930), including ticket summaries, operational categorization, MSAN IP port details, and resolution parameters.
    • Network Configuration Variables: Facilitates the transmission of Change Requests (CRQ ID), interface specifications, VLan configurations, Router parameters, and RA Numbers.
    • Hardware Telemetry & Logs: Retrieves real-time multi-vendor optical power logs, host/router event logs, and system uptime metrics.
    3. Data Usage Specification Table
Data Element Type Collection Status Purpose & Functional Usage
Corporate OLM ID Required Input Used strictly for self authentication purpose by the Field Engineer, access control validation, and assigning functional module privileges based on internal job profiles.
Selected State / Region Manual Input Determines localized network routing to map Field Engineer to the relevant regional infrastructure only (e.g., selecting regional FTTH O&M groups).
Network & Equipment Logs Real-time Fetching Enables optical power troubleshooting, port checks, and diagnostic log retrieval directly to field engineers' mobile interfaces.
Device Location Not Collected The app does not track background device location.
    4. Purpose of Data Processing

The processing of administrative identifiers and network telemetry serves the following exclusive operational functions:

    1. L1 Assist Modules: Allowing Field Maintenance Engineers (FME) to track regional incident bins across Home and Transport sectors, reducing operational dependencies on central NOC teams.
    2. Automated Change Management: Triggering robotic process automation (RPA) bots based on CRQ inputs to perform automated router pre/post-checks directly on-field.
    3. Diagnostic Optimization: Aggregating multi-vendor optical power logs and event logging to minimize long waiting windows and reduce incoming call volumes to core network centers.
    5. Data Retention, Security, and Storage

Niva utilizes enterprise-grade infrastructure to safeguard all corporate operational traffic:

    • Data in Transit: All data transmissions between the Niva client application and the API layer (including production servers such as NIVA_PROD_MANESAR) are fully encrypted via secure cryptographic protocols over HTTPS.
    • Data at Rest: Core session parameters are temporary and cleared upon application termination. Persistent network ticket logs and hardware metrics reside securely within Airtel's private data centers and isolated Kubernetes cluster microservices (e.g., rpa_crq_service, NIVA_API_Server).
    • Data Retention Limitations: Operational ticket information is retained on backend logging servers according to Bharti Airtel's IT Governance and data retention matrices, never on the user's mobile device storage.
    6. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosures

Because Niva is a proprietary internal asset, the following strict privacy boundaries apply:

    • No Commercial Monetization: We do not sell, trade, lease, or commercially exploit any data accessed or inputted through the App to third-party ad networks, data brokers, or analytics suites.
    • No Third-Party Analytics: No tracking SDKs, marketing trackers, or external profiling pixels are embedded within the application binary.
    • Restricted Corporate Access: Infrastructure logs and operational ticket details are only exposed to designated multi-vendor partners (e.g., Cisco, Nokia, Huawei) within the technical boundary of authenticating a valid corporate diagnostic request.
    7. Compliance with Google Play Policy

This application is classified as an enterprise-use platform. In accordance with the Google Play User Data Policy, this User Non Personal Data Policy is prominently accessible via the Play Store listing and within the application dashboard interface to maintain utmost transparency with users regarding the secure handling of corporate identifiers.
