Pay your Credit card through any UPI

As you know, UPI has really simplified online payment system. Now, it can be used to pay your credit card bill too.

Most of the leading banks offer UPI as a payment mode in their apps. You just need to download the bank’s mobile application, go for UPI payment, enter relevant details, and make the payment from your UPI app. It is that easy.

You can also use apps like PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay, etc., to pay your credit card bill.

Steps involved: Google Pay

  • Download the Gpay or Google Pay app on your phone. Register with your number.
  • Link your bank account here and create your UPI ID.
  • Now find the ‘Pay Bills’ option and click on it.
  • Tap on ‘Credit Card Bill payment’.
  • You can select your bank from the drop down menu. Post that, you will have to link your credit card here.
  • Now you can pay your credit card bill using Gpay.

Steps involved: PhonePe

  • Download the PhonePe app for credit card payment through UPI.
  • On Home page, under Recharge & Pay bills, find Credit Card bill quick link. Tap on it.
  • Now all you have to do is link your credit card here.
  • Once you have linked your credit card, you can proceed with the payment.
  • The money will be deducted from the savings account which is linked with your UPI account.

Use debit card to pay your credit card bill

Very few banks have the option to pay your credit card bill using the debit card details. Although, you can pay the bill using the savings bank account which is linked to your debit card.

In case, you want to pay your credit card bill offline using the debit card, you can do so by using an ATM.

Note: You need to have a debit card of the same bank as your credit card issuer.

Go to the ATM of your bank, after entering your PIN etc., you will get the option to pay your credit card bill. Tap on it. Enter the amount you want to pay and proceed. The money will be deducted from your debit card linked savings account.

Before going ahead with the transaction, check your account balance to ensure there are sufficient funds for the bill payment.
