What will you need to fit a wall-mounted TV?

Mounting a wall TV is quite easy if you have these simple tools.

A power drill can help you to mount the TV in lesser time. You can use a screwdriver too, but a power drill ensures speedy and accurate work.

2.    Different drill bits

  • Carbide-tipped masonry bit: You need this to make pilot holes in your house’s drywall.
  • Phillips head drill bit: It is used to drive the mounting screws.

3.    Level

A Level is used to see if the screws are mounted in a parallel line. If you don’t wish to end up with a crooked or slanted TV, you should use a level to see if everything is aligned. Moreover, this will help you avoid any unnecessary holes in your wall.

4.    TV Mount

Usually, for the newer models, a TV mount is given with the set. If not, you will need to buy a TV mount depending on the size specifications of your TV. You can order the mount online after checking your TV manual.

5.    Painter’s tape

This is optional. Painter’s tape is used to mark things. Once you find the right place, you can use painter’s tape to mark the wall. If you don’t have this, you can use a pencil too.

We also recommend you get a friend or a family member to help you with the process if you don’t wish to end up with an expensive TV mess.

How to hide wires for wall-mounted TV?

There are two ways to hide the wires sticking out of your mounted TV:

  • Buy a TV cable cover kit online. You can easily get one on any of the online shopping portals. Use the kit to hide all your cables in a plastic tube that can be attached to the wall.
  • In addition, go for cable access plates which will help you route the cables.
