Tired of Spam calls? Register your Mobile Number for DND today!

All of us need our smartphone daily, to perform a wide range of activities such as making phone calls, using data to surf the internet, book cabs, send WhatsApp messages, conduct video calls – the list is literally endless. It is easy to conclude that smartphones have made our lives easier than it had been before.

But, amidst so many helpful services and capabilities, there is one problem that all of us, or at least most of us have faced, often on a regular basis – spam calls. Ask anyone around you about how annoyed they get at spam calls, and you will surely hear a number of stories of why or when a spam call ended up affecting their concentration or peace of mind.

So, how can you get rid of these spam calls? Read on to find out.

Before we dig a bit deeper and avoid these spam calls effectively, you should understand which kind of phone calls can be flagged as spam calls.

Spam Calls from Salespersons

A spam call is a phone call where the person is making similar type of calls, with similar messages, in an attempt to gain information from you or just to use your contact number as a sales lead. These telemarketing platforms can also send SMS to get more visibility from you.

While spam calls can essentially help you, for example, if you wish to take a bank loan or get more information about an educational institution or an MBA course or a life insurance scheme that you had not heard of – they are still considered to be very disturbing, and most people would simply like to avoid them in the first place.

Spam Calls from Fraudsters

Spam calls can also be potentially harmful in nature, where the person can invariably steal your personal information, bank account, card details and more, and use them against you to siphon off money from your account, or just steal your data.

You should be careful whenever you encounter such calls, and always remember that your bank officials will never ask for your bank account details over the phone. If anyone does, then the person is probably a fraudster who is acting as a bank official.

Therefore, it is important to keep your phone number away from these callers, while you keep enjoying your prepaid or postpaid plan facilities to the fullest.
