Deadpool and Wolverine: Marvel’s Iconic Duo is Back!

Just a few years back, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or the MCU, as it is commonly known), was releasing multiple movies in a year and the audience was absolutely hooked! However, the same cannot be said for some of Marvel’s latest movies such as The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Eternals, which have been regarded as box office duds and have failed to make much of an impact. Which is why, eyebrows were raised when Marvel announced that they will only be releasing one film this year – Deadpool 3.

But, if any movie can actually bring back the audiences for Marvel, then it is none other than Deadpool 3. The anti-hero character has become extremely popular in modern pop culture and enjoys a huge fan following.

In essence, there are two things that make the Deadpool franchise, fun and attractive for the audience- the deadpan tongue-in-cheek humour that is seldom seen in superhero movies, where Deadpool basically makes fun of every other superhero flick (even in the DC Universe), and the charismatic acting of Ryan Reynolds. The incredible action sequences also add to the overall appeal of the Deadpool movies.

What will Deadpool 3 be about?

Marvel strongly believes that this will be the film that brings the MCU back on track once again, as it tries to pick up where the Loki series ended from. Staying on the same story of the TVA (Time Variance Authority), branched timelines and the rest, you can be assured that Deadpool 3 will be based on the same concept of the multiverse, the one that Marvel has been trying to build over the last couple of years.

What is the Deadpool 3 release date?

The movie releases in theatres on 26th July, 2024 in the USA. You can expect the film to come to Indian theatres around the same time. But for now, you can watch the Deadpool 3 trailer on YouTube.

Who will be the stars in Deadpool 3?

Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds go hand in hand. Now, it is important to remember that Deadpool does actually exist outside the MCU, but Marvel Studios will still go ahead with him as their lead character. Especially, now that characters like Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America are no longer the face of the franchise, with their stories ending with the Infinity War movies.

Ryan Reynolds does get a hand up, and he does not have to do all the heavy lifting all by himself in Deadpool 3, because Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine. Yes, we all know that Hugh Jackman had long stopped being the Wolverine in movies. And yet, when the stakes are higher, there is no one who can play Marvel’s Wolverine better than the actor who has been synonymous with the role for the last 20 years.

In the world of Marvel Comics, Deadpool and Wolverine have long been fighting enemies having each other’s back. But, with the added danger of the multiverse, and the Time Variance Authority involved, will the two comic book characters see eye to eye in Deadpool 3 or will they be fighting each other? For that, you must not miss Deadpool 3 in the theatres.
