  • Head to Airtel’s official website.
  • Find the Postpaid tab and open the drop-down menu.
  • Click on port to Airtel.
  • Select an Airtel Family Postpaid Plan.
  • Fill up the form with relevant details like your name, mobile number, exact residence address, etc. If you are a new user looking to port to Airtel, tap on switch to Airtel with the same number.
  • Hit Submit.
  • Follow the instructions displayed on the screen and authenticate your request to raise a porting request.
  • Your request will be processed quickly once all formalities are completed from your end.
  • The Postpaid SIM will be delivered for free to your home. You will have to pay the plan charges.

How to upgrade my Airtel Postpaid individual plan to a family plan?

If you are already an Airtel Postpaid customer and wish to upgrade to a family plan, follow the below steps:

  • Download the Airtel Thanks app.
  • On the home page, tap on the services tab.
  • Under postpaid, scroll down to find the manage plan button. Tap on it.
  • Go through the available plans and choose a family plan as per your family data and talk time needs.
  • Hit next.
  • Review the changes and click on confirm. The family plan will be activated. Add your family members’ details and manage it for them.

In case you don’t wish to upgrade to a specific family plan, you can also add extra members to your existing postpaid plan for just Rs. 299/connection. Here’s how you can add members to your plan:

  • Tap on the services tab in the Airtel Thanks app.
  • Now tap on the add member button under the Postpaid Family tab.
  • You will be redirected to a new page called Manage Family. Tap on the Invite Member button.
  • Enable permission for the app to access your contacts. You can do this from the settings app on your phone.
  • An invite link will be sent to your family member. Ask them to use the same link to join the plan.
  • Follow the directions given to get the connection active as a member of your family plan.
