Bharti Airtel appoints Rahul Vatts as Group Chief Regulatory Officer and Director - Corporate Affairs
New Delhi (India), June 17, 2026: Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, has expanded the responsibilities of Rahul Vatts, appointing him as Director — Corporate Affairs and Group Chief Regulatory Officer.
In this expanded role, Rahul will lead the Corporate Affairs team and drive stakeholder engagement across industry and government, shaping the company’s public policy position and regulatory strategy. He will also act as the primary government and regulator interface for Bharti Airtel.
This move is in line with company’s commitment to strengthen its corporate affairs capability as the brand extends beyond telecom.
Rahul will continue to serve on the Airtel Management Board. In addition, he will be inducted onto the Board of Bharti Airtel Foundation to ensure that the Foundation’s activities are also aligned with the larger objectives of the company.
A telecom veteran with about 30 years of experience, Rahul joined Airtel in April 2020 as the Chief Regulatory Officer. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad and The Wharton School, Pennsylvania.
